Intro:
An efficient and consistent photography workflow will help simplify and speed up your post-production work and assist you in keeping your photos organised.

Dave will show you in detail the steps he goes through to simplify, standardise and speed up his workflow, especially useful when he is working on his Getty Images assignments.

You will learn how to improve your own workflow by observing his methods and techniques from importing photos after a shot to quickly narrowing them down from hundreds of images to just a few 'keepers'. You will see how they he edits multiple images together to speed up the process before exporting the final versions and sending these to his clients.

The first hour is spent taking photos out in the street.  After that you'll head back in and see Dave's workflow in action. We will then work through participant's images and as a group we'll consider different ideas during the editing phase.

Dave's workflow is based around Lightroom, just occasionally jumping out to Photoshop and other software as needed for an individual image.  If you are new to Lightroom, you will gain a good overview of what the software can do.
Existing Lightroom users will find plenty of useful hints and tips as well.

Topics discussed during the Workshop:
  • Creating a sensible filing system which works for you
  • Importing images into Lightroom while applying a default preset and metadata
  • Ratings and selecting images
  • Using collections to narrow down selections and ordering images
  • Editing images using the develop module in Lightroom
  • Creating and using presets for speedy editing
  • Exporting using presets
  • Sending images to a client
Reviews & Comments
"Dave has a friendly, down-to-earth way of imparting his vast photography knowledge that never feels intimidating for a second."
- William Sidnam -

Dave’s workshop was excellent with very detailed, useful and practical workflow information & tips. He also covered some core lightroom functions with “how to” steps  - all clear and extremely useful.
Dave happily answered many questions as we went along.
Very good value.

NOTES :
  1. You will need a camera, but you do not need to bring your own laptop as we will be working collaboratively and sharing ideas as a group
  2. This workshop is NOT a Lightroom training workshop.  If you would like to learn more about Lightroom (either before or after this workshop) then we encourage you sign up to our scheduled Lightroom workshop. Our tutors are also available for private tuition on Lightroom.
