PRIVATE WORKSHOP REQUEST
From the moment Michelle arrived I was impressed with her easy going and calm nature, her portfolio is absolute stunning, and she is a very talented photographer.
I was impressed with her organization and her help and friendly advice to those in need in any situation, her knowledge of the area was superb, and she made it easy with her guidance for people to get stunning photos.
She was always willing to answer any questions in full and I doubt no one without her full attention.

Intro:
Arrive for sun
set to join Michelle Durrant for an astrophotography workshop at Tawharanui on the east coast.  A stunning Regional Park which is known as one of North Auckland’s “best kept secrets”.
It covers the end of a peninsula that extends into the Pacific Ocean just north of Kawau Island with a white sandy beach, groves of trees and a rocky shoreline. This is a perfect backdrop for astrophotography.

Being among the stars is a wonderful experience.  You've seen all the amazing photos of the night sky, why not give it a go yourself.
This introd
uction to astrophotography covers everything you need to know from setting up your camera gear and then shooting the night sky and the milkyway, with the bonus of shooting sunset and landscapes earlier in the evening.  Michelle’s workshops are carefully planned, as she has scouted each location beforehand.

Join Michelle on an adventure and you will take away some stunning images.
Topics discussed during Workshop:
  • Run through a check list of the basic gear and camera settings for astrophotography
  • How to set up your tripod and camera and why this is an important step in astrophotography
  • How to scout a location and why this is essential
  • Working with natural light for sunset and the night sky
  • The importance of capturing the best composition
